The Tandem tour stoped in Florida for its 12th WTT contest of the year with a 6* ranking event. The huge HURICANE gave the contestant strong current and narly windy wave to surf during the all event.

Kalani s leash plug was pulled out when a big wave clobbered them on the outside and he and Ala had to swim all the way in, against the currents and unrelenting waves. Kalani & Ala(HAW) took the 1st place and the actual lead of the WTT ranking.

Paully & Karin took 2nd place after a long wave fight in semies. Karin collapsed from heat and exhaustion. They are now 5th on the Tour.

Clay & Kristen got 3rd despite Kristen banged her knee super hard into a giant bloody mess (to attract the sharks!). They jump into the 3rd place of the WTT Ranking.

The 4th place goes to the French pair Eric & Ophelie (Rico & Sarah missed their flight in Paris). The french team risked it all in semies having Ophelie swim out, it took over ten minutes for Eric to finally get out to her just before the lifeguards were heading out for a rescue. The gamble paid off though, they hit one perfect lift and good surfing to advance to finals. They are now in 4th position on the ITSA WTT ranking.

Now, let s wait for the 2 next contest in California and France to be sanctioned to crown our WTT World Champ.

Big Mahalo to the national kidney foundation and rich and salick for hosting a great event and Doctor Lance Maki who donated a 54 ford pickup to the foundation to make this event happen for tandem.
